LIP BLUSH & NEUTRALIZATION

Lip neutralization is the process of softening and/or camouflaging areas of the lips where there is an overproduction of melanin resulting in uneven color in the lips. For some, this may mean spots of browns, purples or blues, while others may see an entire lip or both lips experiencing the aforementioned colors all over.

*PLEASE NOTE:

If you've ever experienced cold sores or fever blisters, you should secure a prescription for Valtrex or its generic or other natural antiviral vitamins like L-Lysine prior to booking this service to prevent an outbreak around the lips and mouth. It is standard for clients to begin taking the medication prior to the appointment and for several days after to avoid a flare up even if one hasn't occurred recently.

Please speak with your physician about the exact timeframe, medication/ vitamin and protocols for accurate information, as we are NOT licensed medical professionals and are giving you advice based on the permanent makeup/ cosmetic tattoo industry’s best practices.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCEDURE

Lip neutralization tattoo is a cosmetic procedure that involves depositing pigments into the lips to even out their color and create a more uniform appearance. Here is a step-by-step breakdown of what you can expect during the procedure:

  1. Consultation: Before the procedure, you will have a consultation with the technician to discuss your goals and expectations, as well as any concerns you may have. During this time, the artist will also assess the natural color of your lips to determine the best shade for the pigment.

  2. Pigment selection: Your artist will select the appropriate pigment based on your natural lip color and desired outcome.

  3. Tattooing: Using a small needle, the artist will deposit the pigment into your lips in a series of precise, controlled strokes. The artist will work carefully to ensure that the pigment is distributed evenly and the final result looks natural.

  4. Aftercare: After the procedure, you'll be given instructions on how to care for your lips as they heal. This typically includes avoiding certain foods and drinks, keeping the area clean, and avoiding picking or scratching at the lips.

The entire procedure usually takes between 2-3 hours, depending on the size of your lips and the amount of pigment needed. You may experience some minor swelling or tenderness immediately after the procedure, but this typically subsides within a day or two. The final result of your lip neutralization tattoo will be visible approximately 6-8 weeks after your appointment.
